Kashmir Great Lakes Trek: Everything You Need to Know Before You Go

Quick Jumpinglinks To Navigate

Why Choose the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek?

The Kashmir Great Lakes Trek (KGL) is often described as the crown jewel of trekking in India. Located in the heart of the Himalayas, this 7-day trail takes you through pristine alpine lakes, wildflower-filled meadows, and remote high-altitude passes.

Unlike other treks, the KGL offers a new lake almost every day — Vishansar, Gadsar, Satsar, Gangbal, and more. Each lake has its own character, set against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks and glacier-fed rivers.

Whether you’re an experienced trekker or a fit beginner, this journey is your chance to witness Kashmir’s raw and untouched beauty.
