The Indrahar Pass Trek offers an adventure for both beginners and seasoned trekkers. At 4,000 meters, it features stunning views of the Dhauladhar & Pir Panjal ranges, along with the Kangra Valley. Starting in McLeod Ganj, the trail passes through oak and rhododendron forests, ancient temples, & ends with the panoramic views from Indrahar Pass, overlooking Mani Mahesh Kailash; blending spiritual charm, cultural experiences & thrilling landscapes.
The adventure kicks off at the Galu Devi Temple after breakfast, where a briefing session takes place. The trail is moderately steep, leading through mixed forests of rhododendron, oak, and deodar trees before reaching the meadows of Triund. Overnight stay in tents.
After breakfast, the trek continues from Triund, winding through oak and rhododendron forests. Laka Got, a temporary shepherd camp, is often snow-covered in early summer and offers interaction with local shepherds. Overnight stay in tents.
This is the most challenging day, with the trek ascending to Lahesh Caves & then up to Indrahar Pass. At the top, take in sweeping views of the Pir Panjal range, Mani Mahesh Kailash peak & Kangra Valley. Then descend back to Laka Got for an overnight stay in tents.
A gentle descent back to McLeod Ganj, ensuring arrival before lunchtime. End of trek.
