Starting from the village of Jagatsukh, about 6 kilometers from Manali, this trek offers a perfect mix of adventure and natural beauty. The trek ascends alongside the Jagatsukh stream, leading you through dense forests, lush meadows, and stunning high-altitude pastures. Suitable for both beginners and seasoned trekkers, the Deo Tibba Base Camp Trek promises a thrilling experience, culminating in breathtaking views of the majestic Deo Tibba peak.
This trek not only offers a chance to witness the grandeur of Deo Tibba but also provides an opportunity to explore the rich flora and fauna of the region. The journey is filled with picturesque campsites, pristine waterfalls, and sweeping meadows that make it an unforgettable adventure.
The adventure begins as we assemble at the Manali main circle (Gol Chakkar) at 9:30 AM. After a hearty breakfast, we drive to Jobra, the starting point of our trek. The trail from Jobra takes us through mixed forests of pine, chestnut, and maple trees. We cross a river to reach the other side and continue our trek to Chikka. This day’s trek is relatively easy and serves as a great introduction to the beautiful landscapes we will encounter. We camp overnight at Chikka, where you can visit a nearby waterfall and enjoy the serene environment.
After breakfast, we begin our trek to Serai, a beautiful high-altitude meadow. The trek takes us through stunning landscapes, with numerous waterfalls along the way. As we ascend, we are rewarded with magnificent views of the Deo Tibba Base, a sight that will leave you in awe. The trek is moderate in difficulty and offers a perfect balance of challenge and beauty. We set up camp at Serai, where we spend the night under the stars.
Today’s trek is the longest and most challenging part of our journey. We cross the Jagatsukh stream and hike up to the ridge towards the left of the waterfall. From here, we get a spectacular view of the Deo Tibba peak, towering at 6,001 meters. The route continues across grassy slopes, leading to a moraine at 4,800 meters. After spending some time taking in the breathtaking views and resting, we begin our descent back to Serai. We camp overnight at Serai, reflecting on the incredible sights of the day.
We start our day at ease, enjoying a leisurely breakfast before beginning our trek back to Jobra. The descent takes us through the same beautiful landscapes we encountered on our way up, offering a different perspective of the valley. Once we reach Jobra, we board our vehicles and head back to Manali, bringing our incredible trek to a close.
