Day 01 Flight to Thimphu

Distance: 1,284 KM  

Flight Time: 2 hr 25 min

Adventure to Bhutan begins with a scenic flight from New Delhi to Paro International Airport, one of the most cinematic flight routes in the world, offering spectacular views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted and transferred to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city.

On the way to Thimphu, delve in the lush valleys and charming villages. After checking into your hotel, you’ll have the evening free to explore Thimphu’s markets, try local cuisine or simply relax after your journey.

Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 02 Thimphu Sightseeing

Begin your day with a hearty Bhutanese breakfast, followed by a full day of sightseeing in Thimphu, where modernity and tradition blend effortlessly.

We start by visiting  Buddha Dordenma Statue, one of the largest Buddha statues in the world, towering a whopping 51 metres over the Thimphu Valley. This serene spot offers panoramic views of the city. Followed by Memorial Chorten; this iconic stupa is a place of prayer and meditation for the people of Thimphu, built in memory of the third king of Bhutan. 

Post lunch, dive into Bhutan’s rural life and cultural history with a visit to the Folk Heritage Museum, housed in a traditional farmhouse.

In the evening, stroll around the city centre to visit handicraft and textile stores or enjoy a traditional Bhutanese dinner.

After a blissful day, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 03 Thimphu to Punakha

Distance: 85 KM  

Drive time: 2.5 hours

After an early breakfast, we’ll drive to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan. ENroute, we will be crossing through the stunning Dochula Pass, which offers sweeping views of the snow capped Himalayas on a clear day. You’ll also witness the 108 memorial chortens (that line the pass.

Upon arrival in Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong, the majestic fortress in Bhutan. Situated at the confluence of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu, this fortress is not only an architectural masterpiece but also a key historical site.

After exploring the dzong, take a short walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest in Bhutan, overlooking the stunning views of the valley and rivers.

In the evening, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Punakha as you settle into your hotel for a much required rest.

Day 04 Punakha to Paro

Distance: 125 KM  

Drive Time: 4 hours

After breakfast and checking out, we shall continue the journey to Paro. Home to some of Bhutan’s most famous landmarks, you can visit Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Fertility Temple, a significant pilgrimage site dedicated to Drukpa Kunley, the “Divine Madman.” enroute.

Upon arrival in Paro, check in to your hotel before beginning exploring this charming town.

One of the most important dzongs in Bhutan, Rinpung Dzong offers breathtaking views of the Paro Valley and is steeped in history. It was once a centre of defence and religion and currently houses the district monastic body and a few government offices.

Spend the evening strolling through Paro Town, exploring local handicraft stores and visiting the unique cafes. This quaint town has a laid back atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after a day full of sightseeing. Followed by overnight stay in Paro.

Day 05 Tiger’s Nest Monastery

This is the day outdoor enthusiasts hike to the world famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang Monastery) is a dreamy path perched on the edge of a cliff 900 metres above the Paro Valley.

After a hearty breakfast, embark on the hike to one of Bhutan’s most sacred sites. The trek takes you through pine forests and offers stunning views along the way. The monastery is said to be the meditation site of Guru Rinpoche, who flew to this spot on the back of a tigress. Once you reach the monastery, explore its beautifully decorated halls and take in the spiritual energy of this awe inspiring location
